Gung Hay Fat Choy! This is a very common saying during the Chinese new year which means, “wishing you great happiness and prosperity,” in Cantonese, the official language of China.
Tomorrow January 28th is the beginning of the Year of the Rooster which is the tenth in a twelve year cycle of the Chinese zodiac and symbolizes punctuality and fidelity. This is because in ancient times, no one had alarm clocks, so many relied on the crowing of the rooster to wake up.
People born in the Year of Rooster are said to have many helpful qualities such as being honest, smart, outgoing and ambitious. They rarely rely on others and are often excited to start new projects. All of these qualities are sure to make for an excellent friend.
