Presenting a unique pair of vintage hand engraved Sterling Silver hair combs from Tucson’s legendary silversmith Yell Newman featuring his iconic intricate Southwestern paisley designs. Yell was a World War II veteran, a working cowboy at numerous guest ranches throughout the West and a master silversmith known for his superior quality hand engravings on Sterling Silver; always reflecting his passion for the Southwestern theme. He, along with his two real-life brothers, Hoot and Holler (you can’t make this stuff up) were highly regarded Western silversmiths and engravers during the mid-20th century. Yell had jewelry shops in the 1950’s – 1960’s in Reno and Carson City, Nevada, Scottsdale, Arizona. He finally settled in Tucson with his son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Barbara and continued to create his iconic silver pieces until his death in 1994.
