Presenting an outstanding 1971 “Golden Universe” gold vermeil sterling silver Christmas spoon designed by the artist Else Alfelt for the renowned Anton Michelsen Silversmiths workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark. Renowned for her abstract paintings, Else Alfelt was one of only two female members of the avant-garde COBRA art movement and married to the equally talented Carl-Henning Pedersen. Since 19 10, various well-known Danish artists and designers have offered their talents to decorate annual Christmas spoons and matching fork sets that merge with the elegance and meticulous craftsmanship of Old Danish design. Each set was made in limited quantities with the dies being destroyed after 1 year. It is fully hallmarked, in excellent vintage condition with minimal age-appropriate wear and are not monogrammed. The enamel is in pristine condition with no chips or cracks.
