Product Information
Woven souvenir flag from the World’s Columbian Exposition of the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. The flag is made from red and violet fabric depicting the U.S. Government Building.
The flag is in very good condition for its age, although there is some fraying around the edges; especially at the top left corner and a spot on the right side. The colors of the fabric are still very vivid.
It measures:

The U.S. Government Building was located off of Lake Michigan between the fisheries and the Manufacturers and Liberal Arts Buildings. Many official U.S. documents were on display in the building; except the Constitution, which was considered too important to leave Washington.
