Hammersley specialized in the design and production of rich patterns on the finest bone china, which is evidenced here by this perfect figurine. In excellent condition without any blemishes it will be sure to please.

Bone china is made up of china clay, china stone, silica, alumina, alkalies, lime and bone ash. Each piece is fired at very high temperatures -- 2,300 to 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. The finer grades of bone china consist of 50% or more of bone ash produced from selected animal bones which are heated until only a fine powder remains. The bone ash is mixed with the fine china clays to produce the world renowned china we have all come to know and love.
